Not to brag, but we think aNote is the future of human services. Caseworkers just type their notes in and tag them in whatever way makes sense for your program delivery, and aNote does the hard work of putting structured data where it belongs for reporting. It’s a win for frontline staff, data managers, and systems administrators.

We’ve been on a quest to make frontline staff members’ lives easier for a very long time. We’re pretty well known for saying “the database shouldn’t be punishment for doing your job.” The question that we’ve been chipping away at for a long time is..how?

Awhile back we realised that we had to completely rethink how we approach data capture - prioritizing the experience of the frontline staff above all else. No more forms, no more jumping around to key in data that was already in a note.

We also knew our solution had to be simple and affordable for small and midsized nonprofits but flexible enough to adapt to the needs of larger organizations, so that systems administrators and data managers get what they need out of it too. Because it’s part of Framework, it can deliver all of that for a reasonable price.

Take a look at two very different approaches, both using aNote, in the videos below. And then get in touch if you like what you see and want to explore what it can do for you.

FAQ

How much does it cost?

(a) Annual Licensing

aNote is part of Framework, so you will pay an annual license fee of $5000 per year for nonprofits ($15,000 per year for corporations and businesses).

This fee is per Salesforce organization, so no matter how many users you have, or how many ways you use Framework or aNote, it’s the same cost. If you have multiple Salesforce orgs (totally different IDs and users) then you would pay a license fee for each org you install into.

(b) Implementation

Deep Why will implement the product for you, and work with you in a consultative manner to ensure you’re getting the training you need to understand how to make adjustments on your own. There will be a one-time implementation project cost for an aNote setup.

Both of our companies strive to serve the small and midsized nonprofit sector so don’t be afraid to ask about pricing - we just don’t know what will fit your needs so don’t want to set up any false expectations without talking to you.

(c) Support

Deep Why provides a range of services in a flexible manner. We strive at all times to empower your organization to manage your changes through coaching and training, and many of our Framework clients thrive without any further support after launch. Deep Why offers hourly ad-hoc support that is pay-as-you-go and deliberately flexible to fit your needs.

How do I get it?

Contact us either at HCA or Deep Why - we’re the same people, just different ways of delivering solutions.

Does it work on tablets?

Yes! It works great on tablets.

Does it work on mobile phones?

Right now it works well on iPhones in the Salesforce Mobile app, and we expect to have it working well for Android very shortly.

Can it help capture data from SMS messages?

It’s going to depend on which product you use to send SMS messages out of Salesforce, so the answer is maybe. We’re working on getting a list of compatible SMS solutions and establishing the exact steps to set this up, as this is our #1 most asked question at this time.

Can it store data in my pre-existing objects and fields?

Absolutely! That is the entire reason it was built!

The goal is to provide a friendly “face” to your Salesforce reporting architecture so that you still get the data you need and rely on while your case workers and direct service workers get the notes they rely on.

Program needs change all the time and I don’t want to be locked into something that is expensive to change. How does aNote help?

Framework was designed to be managed by a Salesforce systems administrator, not a programmer. So for most things in Framework or aNote, if you can add a formula field to your Salesforce interface or are comfortable with rollups you have the technical skills needed to learn how to manage aNote over time without any outside help.

We built Framework for the types of questions Deep Why is asked to solve (very complex) on the types of budgets our clients have (often not nearly what they need). Framework lets the Deep Why team - whether programmers or not - execute complex changes in 1/10th or less of the time that Apex and LWC driven solutions require. So even if you have to call us for help, it costs a lot less than other types of custom solutions, because we were solving our own problem first and foremost before sharing it with the world.

I’m an implementation partner or consultant and I want this for my clients. How does that work?

We don’t see competitors, only collaborators. So even if you offer services that directly compete with Deep Why, we’d welcome you as a Framework builder, supporter, and partner. It’s part of why we have two different brands - ultimately we want everybody in the nonprofit space to feel comfortable implementing and supporting our toolkit!
